Congregational Care

Beach Fellowship believes that physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial care is best experienced in the context of relationships. Therefore, our desire is to walk with those who are facing difficult and challenging circumstances in their life. Below, you will find the following avenues of care provided by Beach Fellowship.

Our Pastoral team is available for those who desire prayer and/or have questions regarding faith and practice. We also serve anyone looking for a connection point to get their questions about the church answered, or those who just want to have a dialog. Interested? Please contact us at the Beach Fellowship Church Office: 757-721-7388

Lay counseling is available for those who are facing life’s difficult issues and would like to meet one on one with someone who can help navigate this time of troubles. Maybe you are in a difficult relationship, working through a loss, or struggling with a challenging area of your life. Our desire is that you not walk this road alone, and would allow a person or a couple to come alongside and assist you.

Lay counselors are volunteer members of our Beach Fellowship Church family. They work with the Pastors and Elders of the church to help ensure you are receiving the best care possible. Everything remains confidential and there is no fee. Our lay counselors are not professional counselors, therapists, pastors, or physicians, and therefore are not authorized to give legal, medical, or financial advice. Please contact us at the Beach Fellowship Church Office: 757-721-7388

Recovery Groups provide the opportunity to pursue God’s restoration in the presence of others dealing with similar issues and under the facilitation of our lay counselors. Our Recovery Groups address topics that are particularly challenging and personal. These topics include things like drug/alcohol abuse, sexual addiction, abuse recovery, trauma, and loss.

A Christian Recovery Group includes some of the same dynamics a Twelve Step recovery group has, as well as some unique components. We are caring people who come together for one purpose: To help facilitate healing from painful seasons while living out a deeper fellowship with Jesus Christ. The Bible offers the most thorough teaching for humanity on matters relating to economy: personal, business, and governmental. So at Beach Fellowship, we believe a growing understanding of these areas through the lens of scripture is sure to lead individuals, families, churches, and nations toward peace-filled lives. Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for education and growth in financial matters. Check our event calendar for our next Financial Peace University or Money Matters class!

The opportunity to grow personally and spiritually is one of God’s greatest designs for a fulfilling and lifelong commitment. To strengthen marriages at Beach Fellowship, we offer marital Life Groups, which are offered at various times and locations. We also offer ongoing marriage enrichment classes, where you can learn practical skills for building a healthy marital relationship with your spouse.

If you are currently dating or engaged and looking for guidance and insight toward your future plans, Beach Fellowship premarital counseling is for you. Generally, our preference for premarital counseling is a program consisting of six one-hour sessions. These sessions will discuss topics like the meaning and purpose of marriage, the qualities necessary to have a healthy marriage, the true nature of love and how to effectively express it, communication and conflict resolution, Biblical roles of husband and wife, and sexuality in marriage. You do not have to be engaged to participate. In fact, we encourage anyone considering marriage to take part.

*This program is required if you want a Pastor of Beach Fellowship to officiate at your wedding.
